Though still unconfirmed by the Clinton and Obama camps, the media continues to run on the assumption that Hillary Clinton is the front-runner for the Secretary of State position in President-Elect Obama's cabinet.

However, as we mentioned on Tuesday, her husband, former president Bill Clinton, was reportedly hampering things for Hills.

Billy wasn't giving the Obama vetting team all the information they needed to determine whether or not Mrs. Clinton would bring too many 'conflict of interests' to the job.

But, as of today, Wednesday, anonymous sources close to the negotiations say Bubba is whistling a different tune, according to a new report.

He's offered 'several concessions' to help Hills with the bid for the big job.

The former president has agreed to release the names of several major donors to his charitable foundation and will submit future foundation activities and paid speeches to a strict ethics review. They also said that he'd would step away from day-to-day responsibility for his foundation while his wife serves and would alert the State Department of any new sources of income and to his speechmaking.

The report goes on to say that Billy has engaged in other deals that could complicate Hill's Secretary of State duties. Records show he raised money for his foundation from the Saudi royal family, Kuwait, Brunei and the Embassy of Qatar, and from a Chinese Internet company seeking information on Tibetan human rights activists.

A team of attorneys repping the Clintons have apparently been holed up in DC this week negotiating with the Obama team.

Serious stuff!

Many people have said Hills is inclined to take the big Obama job if it is offered, but others also say it's not a total given as she is considering the consequences of leaving the Senate, where she had hoped to take a leading role on health care reform and other issues.

Just yesterday, Tuesday, the highly respected senior senator, Ted Kennedy, offered Hills a huge role in his health reform campaign.

She was asked by the esteemed Kennedy to lead a group focused on insurance reform.

Longtime New York theater critic Clive Barnes passed away today of cancer at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC.

He was 81.

When it rains, it pours.

Gwyneth Paltrow's behavior during a recent trip to Miami for the big Victoria's Secret fashion show has folks raising eyebrows and feeding rumors of imminent divorce.

Instead of supporting Chris Martin on tour with his band, Coldplay, Gwynnie flew to Miami to hang out with Fontainebleau Resorts owner Jeff Soffer. Instead of partying with the rest of the Victoria's crowd, Gwynnie remained secluded with Soffer and Madonna's favorite base ball player, Mr. A-Rod.

Paltrow spent the rest of her weekend being treated to private hotel tours, Bentley joy rides, and yacht cruises with pal Kate Hudson, all provided by Soffer. Witnesses also say that Gwynnie appeared quite thin, perhaps from stress, and was not the vision of a "a happily married woman."

But, of course, a Paltrow pal says that the actress went and visited her husband right after her Miami trip, and her rep says, "Jeff Soffer is a friend of Gwyneth."

There really are a lot of crazies out there! And, unfortunately for Jennifer Garner, she knows that firsthand.

Violet's mom has just obtained a court order to protect herself from some crazy ass fan stalker named Steven Burky, which in her declaration, she confirms that "Mr. Burky has been stalking and harassing me."

She adds that he's been sending "packages and letters containing delusional and paranoid thoughts and following me around the country."

According to Garner, the harassment has been going on since 2002. However, she adds that in the last year, "his obsessive and harassing behavior has escalated to the point of becoming dangerous and threatening."

And Jen needs to think about her hubby and kids as well, as she adds "I am currently pregnant and fear for the safety of my second child once born."

One time Burky even showed up at her house and said "God has sent him a vision of her being persecuted in some manner that may result in her death."

Crazy!!!

Garner's security rep said that Burky described himself as a "crazed Alias fan" and one time followed her to an event, gave her flowers and a card with "I love you forever" written inside along with his contact info.

But, thankfully, earlier this month, a judge issued a temporary restraining order and the hearing scheduled for tomorrow will make it permanent. At the moment, the stalker is currently under a psychiatric hold for the mentally ill.

Let's hope this guy stars far, far away from Garner and her family now and forever!

As we mentioned earlier this week, Paris Hilton was spotted out on the town without her attached-at-the-hip boyfriend, Benji Madden. Instead, Paris bumped into her ex, Stavros Niarchos at a club in Miami Beach.

Well, there's been break-up buzz for a while. And, now, Star is confirming the news that the couple of almost a year have split.

According to an inside source, Paris has dumped Benji, apparently saying he's "too controlling" and that she needed her freedom back.

It seems the breakup took place this Monday. That same night Paris went out and partied with her sister Nicky and Nicky's boyfriend. And on Tuesday night Paris was again seen partying without Benji.

The insider adds, "Paris was fed up with Benji always telling her what to do and bossing her around. She couldn't take his overbearing ways anymore. It was stressing her out. He can be very aggressive and he was just too much trouble."

The source claims that Benji didn't take the breakup well. They say, "He fought for a second chance and asked if they could talk it out but Paris said she was done talking."

The nine month relationship didn't end overnight. The source says "They've had a lot of fights in the past. She felt she couldn't cut loose and party. He doesn't drink and doesn't think she should either. She felt too fenced in."

We're sure Star magazine's allegations that Benji cheated on Paris, two different times, didn't help. But it's ok. We kind of like the single and dating Paris better.

And on a good note, at least she wasn't stupid enough to get pregnant with his baby!

A source blabbed to one of the New York papers that Anne Hathaway's new man, Adam Shulman, is kinda shady.

"Adam is known as an opportunist," says a source that knows him. "When he was at Brown [University], he went after all the heiresses. It's like Anne is addicted to losers."

She deserves better than that!!!

We weren't impressed that Adam spoke to the mags about his new relationship with Anne a few weeks ago AND that he ditched his former girlfriend to hook up with Miz Hathaway.

It fits the 'opportunist' label to a tee!
