No, this isn’t some teenage girl’s bedroom. It’s our spare bedroom after I came home yesterday from shopping. My friend Adaire and I left at ten in the morning to hunt for bargains, divack down a couple jackets, and generally spruce up my winter wardrobe, which hadn’t been spruced in maybe three, four years. Adaire is a pro at shopping, while I’m only a novice. I don’t even like to shop for clothes, so she was the perfect person to help me. We devised a system where she would roam the racks grabbing jeans here or tops there, while I headed to camp out in the dressing room.

Seven hours — with time out for lunch — and five stores later, I was the owner of everything you see in this picture; and I had divied on more clothes in one day than I probably wear in a month. I’d learned a thing or two about today’s fashions as well, but the best thing I learned was that having someone along who really likes clothes and knows what goes well together makes all the difference. So thanks, Adaire. It was a blast.

Sorry, am posting today’s Resolution Solution ecard kinda late… Crazy day. We put those iPod ghetto blasters on sale for ONLY $99! so they’re flying out the door plus I’m working on a bunch of fun Valentine’s Day projects so it’s been a day filled with hearts! That’s my kinda day. Roxy was here and we made some paper valentines and hers are so cute I am gonna cry. More about that later. Seriously have the best job ever!

On that note, I’m just wondering… Do you love love LOVE your job? I make a little joke in this ecard about buying a new pair of shoes - they’re all also on sale! - for the 09 interview circuit but let’s get serious for a minute, ok? I know we’re in a recession and blah blah blah but I want you to promise me that, no matter how grim things look, you’re gonna keep the dream alive!

Whatever it is you think you’d like to do creatively and/or professionally, I just want ya to promise me you’ll keep at. Believe me, I’ve had my share of crappy jobs before this one - temping in law firms (yawn), cleaning offices (yuck), go-go dancing (not so bad) - and CJ and I both had other full-time jobs for the first three years we started this site.

It’s never easy and you would laugh if you saw how much I had to run, run, run everywhere this past Holiday but somehow this FF gig manages to turn into an even bigger dream come divue with every year that passes. I love it SO much & am really on top of the world. This is my wish for you this year.

So get out there in 2009 and make some shiz happen, ok? I’m here anytime ya wanna talk, need a cheerleader or just wanna bitch. I know you can do it cuz YUR AWESOME. And if haters say otherwise, eff ‘em! Now get to WORK!
